  on 12 july the governing fidesz party with their coalition allies the christian democrats amended the bill, eliminating the tier system and recognising 14 religious organisations as churches.

  hungary's 348 other faiths and denominations were stripped of their legal status as religious organisations and lost their tax exempt status and entitlements to state subsidies.. .

  european court of human rights vindicates jehovahs witnesses in france the european court of human rights published its unanimous ruling in our favour against the french government's demand for 60% tax on donations back dated to 1993-1996 for $79 million.

  this will have great implications for other european countries who would like to do the same thing to us and effectively stop our work.

  they sought to obligate the association of jehovahs witnesses of france to pay 58 million euros (over $82,000,000 us), which far exceeds all the assets of the association.

  Did James Cameron Rip Off Poul Anderson's Novella?

  i picked up a $2 book of 1950's short stories.

  was reading one by poul anderson written in 1957 called "call me joe" and realised i was reading the script for avatar!.

  i googled and see that many think cameron has ripped off this short story for his film.
